LOS ANGELES HEALTH SERVICES RAISED THE BAR IN 2023, PROVIDING EQUITABLE CARE IN A DIVERSE REGION

AMTV, Los Angeles, Mar 21 – Today, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services published its 2023 Annual Report Highlights and Accomplishments. The report showcases a commitment to advancing the health of patients and LA County communities as the root of an unwavering focus on excellence and innovation.

LA Health Services is one of the largest integrated public health systems in the nation, with a mission to provide world-class care to all Los Angeles County residents. It strives to lead the nation in building healthy communities, cultivating patient trust and delivering compassionate care through its Medical Centers, Primary Care Clinics, Rehabilitation Center, Street Medicine Programs, Specialty-care clinics and Correctional Health Services.

“This year’s report highlights the empathy, compassion and innovation that drives our exceptional and culturally inclusive care,” said Dr. Christina Ghaly, Director of LA County Department of Health Services. “Our dedicated teams are actively redefining how health care must be delivered to patient populations grappling with complex medical conditions and challenging socio-economic circumstances. We are proud experts in the delivery of care to patient populations with diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status and housing access.”

Detailed throughout the report are examples of the dedication and innovation that is delivering exceptional care to the patients and communities entrusted to LA Health Services. From the expansion of the award-winning Safer at Home program that was adopted by the World Health Organization during the 2021 oxygen crisis in India, to the Language Access initiatives providing healthcare access in over 240 languages, to the use of cutting-edge AI technology to predict and help prevent homelessness, LA Health Services is leading the way.

Improving access to healthcare is essential in ensuring care is always available to those who need it most. 2023 proved to be an accomplished year with LA Health Services receiving fifteen National Association of Counties (NACo) awards which recognize new, innovative, and commendable work performed by government entities across the country, and three LA County Productivity and Quality Awards.
