AMTV, LOS ANGELES, Sept 3 – On September 7, the Academy Museum and filmmaker Werner Herzog will present the Los Angeles Restoration Premiere of the 1982 film Burden of Dreams by Les Blank at 7:30pm, with Herzog and director Les Blank’s son, Harrod Blank, joining in person. The film provides an intimate, poetic look at Herzog’s grueling production of Fitzcarraldo (1982) amidst numerous challenges, capturing the struggle and intricacies of filmmaking. Widely regarded as one of the best films about filmmaking, Burden of Dreams offers both a harrowing and humorous perspective on the quest to achieve an artistic vision.
