World Skate, the IOC-recognised international governing body for sports performed on skating wheels, has released a video and interview with the incredible and inspiring Slalom skateboarder Judi Oyama, to celebrate her being awarded a Guinness World Record for oldest competitive skateboarder in the world!
California’s Judi Oyama has been pushing skateboarding forward since the 1970s.
In this viral video which has already been viewed over a million times, the former Women’s Slalom World Champion (2003) and Skateboarding Hall of Fame inductee, World Skate invited the Santa Cruz native to reflect on her pioneering story and personal photo archive- which capture both her own journey, and a legendary era in skateboarding history.
At 65, Judi is still charging, still inspiring, and still skating non-stop.
