Treasurer Ma to Kick Off Abilities Expo with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, CalABLE to Host Workshops

LOS ANGELES, CA — California State Treasurer Fiona Ma will kick off the annual Abilities Expo, the largest disability resource and trade exposition in California, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This event brings together thousands of Californians, showcasing the latest technologies and services designed to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Treasurer Ma will highlight the significance of the Expo in providing vital resources and tools that empower people with disabilities, as well as the role of California Achieving a Better Life Experience (CalABLE), a program administered by the California State Treasurer’s Office, in providing financial independence through specially designed savings accounts that do not impact public assistance benefits.

Additionally, the CalABLE Program will host two workshops at Abilities Expo, each led by CalABLE Executive Director Thomas Martin. Martin will provide an overview on the CalABLE program and highlight the benefits of using the tax-advantaged savings program for people with disabilities.
