Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) and H2Global signed a MOU

AMTV, Tokyo, Feb 5 – Today, Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) and H2Global Stiftung (H2Global) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to initiate the cooperation in the area of clean hydrogen.

Hydrogen and its derivatives play a key role in the energy transition. After the Revision of JOGMEC Act in 2022, JOGMEC has been working to promote the production and use of hydrogen through various channels including information sharing and financial support.
 
H2Global was established in 2021 to accelerate the emergence of markets for clean hydrogen and other low-emissions technologies globally through market-based instruments. Due to its high adaptability to diverse policy priorities, H2Global is working with countries around the world.
 
The MOU beween JOGMEC and H2Global marks the beginning of a close cooperation, focusing on key topics such as regulation, technology and supply chains. Through this new partnership, JOGMEC and H2Global aim to contribute to the emergence of a clean hydrogen society.

H2Global Stiftung is a foundation based in Hamburg, Germany, the foundation’s purpose is to promote the protection of the environment and the climate as well as the promotion of science and research.

The purposes will be achieved by measures that serve to promote the production and use of Green Hydrogen and other climate-neutral energy carriers (climate-neutral or defossilised energy carriers) at national and international level, including in developing and newly industrialised countries. Activities shall be carried out and supported which, through scientific, journalistic or other practical activities, through education, consulting and information as well as through anal-yses and studies, promote the improvement of the use of these energy carriers and thus serve the protection of the climate.
